Competition Monitor

Review changes in comparable market, industry, geographic, and merger series. Each change retains its interval, unit, source, and definition.

Direction is descriptiveEach row uses its own metric scaleNo composite score
Observed comparisonLatest encoded anchor versus the previous observed anchor, never a filled annual series.
Interval stays visibleOne-year, five-year, and longer gaps remain labeled and are not annualized.
Separate evidence systemsMarket, Census, geography, business-flow, and HSR measures retain different universes and legal meanings.

Longitudinal signal console

Compare the latest anchor with the one immediately before it.

Each row keeps its own period basis, unit, evidence count, source custody, and interpretation boundary.

Interpretation standard

Treat a change as a research lead, not a verdict.

The monitor is a disciplined briefing surface: establish what changed, inspect whether the comparison is valid, then test explanations against product, geography, entry, conduct, price, quality, and policy evidence.

  1. 01
    Read the exact anchors

Keep the metric, values, period labels, and years between observations together.

  2. 02
    Open the evidence route

Inspect the underlying market trend, strict Census pairs, geographic history, business-dynamics series, or HSR annual records and their sources.

  3. 03
    Test the explanation

Use the research question to seek mechanisms and outcomes without treating sequence as causation.

Every signal compares declared observed anchors inside the same series or cross-section. Missing years are not interpolated, intervals are not annualized, and market, industry, geographic, business-flow, and merger measures keep separate units, universes, period bases, and legal meanings. Antitrust Radar does not combine them into a composite competition score.
